Currently provides keynote addresses, consultation, and workshops in the areas of eliminating sexism, young people’s oppression, building alliances, racism, sexism, anti-semitism, homophobia, the role of allies, organizational change, and diversity management.
Martha Barry is deeply committed to ending racism. She is a racial justice trainer, connector, bridge builder, and dedicated leader. Her social justice journey in California and Wisconsin led her to 15 years of work in a corporate HR department as trainer, leadership developer and coach. Fifteen years with the YWCA Southeast Wisconsin provided space to hone her pursuit of racial justice by building community, creating curriculum addressing racism, and advising nonprofit and business leaders on transforming their work in racial equity. Dr. Barry has her B.S. from Edgewood College, M.S. from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her Ph.D. from Cardinal Stritch University.
Paula is the former President & CEO of the YWCA Southeast Wisconsin. She served the organization for over 20 years. After retirement, she served as an Executive Advisor. Penebaker has extensive leadership and human resources experience having earned both Professional (PHR) and Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certifications. During her career she developed diversity strategies, facilitated management training sessions infused with diversity principles and co-developed racial justice curriculum.
Rhonda's profound understanding of systemic racism and its consequent disparities, along with her value for cultural and socioeconomic diversity, enables her to forge significant relationships with both colleagues and members of the community. She possesses a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies. Her educational achievements enhance her professional expertise, providing her with a sophisticated grasp of systemic challenges and the competence to devise impactful solutions.
